Saturday, Roxette began the concert series scheduled in South America on the Montevideo Velodrome, offering to Uruguaians a show they enjoyed very much - a show that went through their 90s greatest hits and songs from the new album.
The Uruguaian singer Martina Gadea played on the opening act in a Velodrome full of fans impatiently waiting the arrival of Roxette on stage. The Swedish band began the show al the local 22h with the emblematic songs "Dress for success" and "Sleeping in my car."
Then Per Gessle greeted the audience saying "Long time no see!" remembering this way the visit to the Centenario stadium in 1992. Per said the show would be a mix of songs from the new album "Charm School"and classic songs that, after all, were those which stimulated the audience to sing and accompany songs such as "The Big Love" "How do you do" or "Joyride."
The show had a fairly balanced mix of explosive hits, new songs and ballads. One of the highlights of the concert was when Marie performed the ultra-famous "It Must Have Been Love", inviting the audience to sing a cappella the first lines.
Roxette played for about an hour, and left the stage, returning twice to close with the infallible "Spending my time", "Fading like a flower" and the "The Look", which generated a warm response from the public.
